Urogynaecological physiotherapy

At the Europe Hospitals, specialised physiotherapy is offered for patients suffering from disorders of the urogynaecological sphere, both in women and in men.

Also known as perineal physiotherapy, it helps both men and women with dysfunctions of the abdominal and pelvic region.

It treats disorders of the lower urinary and digestive systems, the gynaecological, proctological and sexological systems.

Perineal rehabilitation must also take into account different parameters: posture, management of increases in intra-abdominal pressure during physical or professional activities, as well as parameters specific to the patient such as age and, above all, motivation.

This set has an important role in continence (urinary or faecal) but also in sexuality.

Pathologies treated :

  • Urinary stress or emergency incontinence, bladder overactivity, difficulties in urinating
  • Prolapse, vaginal hollowness
  • Anal incontinence, difficulty in passing stools, constipation
  • Vaginismus, dyspareunia (pain during sexual intercourse), hypersensitivity of the vulva, erectile dysfunction
  • Vesico-sphincter dyssynergia, pre/post total prostatectomy
