History
A LITTLE SLICE OF HISTORY…
- 1908 - Institut Ste-Elisabeth, run by the Congrégation des Soeurs Augustines hospitalières de Louvain.
- 1986 - Creation of the A.S.B.L. Clinique Ste-Elisabeth, managed by a joint Board of Directors comprising representatives of the Université Catholique de Louvain (U.C.L.) and the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (K.U.L.).
- 1990 - Laying of the foundation stone for the new Clinique Ste-Elisabeth hospital complex.
- 1991 - Grouping with the Clinique des Deux Alice in Uccle, hosting an SMUR (mobile emergency service) for the Brussels-Capital region.
- 1998 - Merger with the Clinique des Deux Alice, uniting these two institutions from Uccle under common management.
- 1999 - Merger with Clinique Europe-Saint Michel, located in Etterbeek, to form the Europe Hospitals.
- 2004 - Start of extension work on the St-Elisabeth site to accommodate the activities of the Clinique des Deux Alice.
- 2006 - First renovation of the St-Michel site.
- 2009 - Inauguration of the new extension on the St-Michel site.
- 2011 - Relocation of the Clinique Deux Alice activities to the St-Elisabeth site, consolidating the Europe Hospitals on two main sites.
- 2016 - Opening of the Bella Vita Medical Center in Waterloo
- 2024 - Closure of the external consultation in Halle and launch of the external consultation Inkendaal (Vlezenbeek/Sint-Pieters-Leeuw).
AT PRESENT…
The Europe Hospitals are managed by Mr Peter FONTAINE, delegated administrator and executive director since November 2016 and by Dr Sebastian SPENCER, delegated administrator and medical director since January 2024.
