The legal deadline for registering a birth: 15 days

If you don’t declare your child within 15 legal calendar after the birth, the registration will be made by the civil registration officer.

Please note the following:

If the child's parents are not married and did not formally recognise the child before birth, registration of the birth must be done at the Local Council of Uccle in order to do the registration of the formal recognition of paternity in the same time as the birth certificate. Different documents are required: civil status and nationality certificates, certificate of residency and custom certificate if registrants are not on the national register.

To help you the best we can, we recommend you to contact the birth office of the commune of Uccle. (T: 02-605 10 44).
