Location

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women.

It is treated in specialist centres known as “Breast Clinic”.

Diagnosis, treatment and follow-up are provided by a multidisciplinary team made up of doctors and specialists who work closely with
the patient’s GP.

The multidisciplinary team meets every week to draw up individual treatment plans for patients, who are then given all the information they need.

Patients and their families can rest assured that they will receive personal psycho-social support throughout the duration of their treatment.

The nurse plays a crucial role as a person that patients can trust. You can contact the nurse at any time if you have questions or practical problems.

Accreditation Breast Clinic

For more than 20 years, the Europe Hospitals has been providing high quality diagnosis and treatment to their breast cancer patients. The hospital is an accredited Breast Clinic on the St-Elisabeth site in Uccle. Patients from the St-Michel site are referred for treatment to this accredited Breast Clinic.

Accreditation means that the centre makes enough breast cancer diagnoses per year (at least 125) and can demonstrate sufficient expertise, which is crucial for breast cancer treatment outcomes.

At the Europe Hospitals, every breast cancer patient can count on a multidisciplinary team, personalised support and competent medical and paramedical supervision (breast nurse and psychologist).

Through this joint, daily commitment, we significantly increase the chances of recovery and survival, while ensuring a better quality of life after breast cancer. For example, our Breast Clinic has developed two integrated oncology rehabilitation programmes: EuroFit, which promotes fitness after oncology treatment, and EurHope Yoga Care, a yoga programme for oncology patients, supervised by the Physiotherapy Department, with the help of psychologists and dieticians.

Friends of the Europe Hospitals Fund

The aim of the Friends of the Europe Hospitals Fund is to help the hospital's medical services to improve the patient's experience of care.
A ‘Friends of Fund’ is managed by the King Baudouin Foundation. The smooth running of the ‘Friends of’ Fund is ensured by a management committee on which the founders are represented. Donations of €40 or more per year to the Foundation benefit from a tax reduction of 45% of the amount actually paid (art. 145/33 CIR)'. Thanks to the guarantee provided by the King Baudouin Foundation, donors make their donations in complete confidence, knowing that they will be used for the specific projects for which they have been asked.

Our current project: Integrative Oncology Care Pathway
We want to improve the experience of patients undergoing One Day oncology treatment at our 2 hospital sites.
By offering them a chance to escape for a while during and after their treatment, we hope to have a positive impact on their healing process. Our integrated care pathway includes: access to fitness or creative activities, a moment of celebration at the end of treatment, a cocoon kit for their return home, theme days and a varied, up-to-date library.
