About the psychiatry department

Text

Psychiatry is the branch of medicine that specialises in mental disorders. The Europe Hospitals psychiatry ward caters to patients with neuropsychiatric conditions by providing them with inpatient, outpatient or urgent care.

The ward works collaboratively with psychiatric, hospital or non-hospital institutions located in the Brussels region, primarily in the south of Brussels.

Consultation activities are conducted at the St-Elisabeth (Uccle), and St-Michel (Etterbeek) sites, as well as at the polyclinic in Halle.

They are intended to provide a place where patients with neuropsychiatric conditions may be assessed and treated. They also facilitate initial contact, assessment of the situation and establishment of a treatment plan with a patient whose hospitalisation is required.

They are managed by the ward's psychiatrists and psychologists.
