Intercultural mediation

The Europe Hospitals take in patients from all over the world. For the purpose of allowing patients from foreign countries to better communicate and to establish a suitable therapeutic relationship between the caregiver and the care-receiver, the intercultural mediation cell provides a service that aims at reducing language, social and cultural barriers to a minimum.

The role of the intercultural mediator, who is bound by professional secrecy, is to intervene in a neutral manner and to forward all relevant messages.

Areas of intervention:

  • Interpreting on trilateral communication or with a video conferencing
  • Mediation and awareness raising on behalf of foreign patients
  • Consultancy relating to health education
  • Dialogue and accompaniment to facilitate the contact for the care

The mediator, Rania Saouma, works for both sites: St-Elisabeth and St-Michel.

You may request an appointment by phone or by email.
