Cardiac rehabilitation
The cardiac rehabilitation centre is run by cardiologists supported by teams of specialised physiotherapists, psychologists, dietitians and social workers.
The objectives of the convalescence programme are:
- To enable you to resume your normal life as soon as possible
- To effectively prevent potential complications
- To work on modifying risk factors (smoking, high cholesterol, diabetes, high blood pressure, overweight, a sedentary lifestyle, eating habits and psychosocial stress )
In order for you to adjust as effectively as possible to your condition, our centre has - in addition to a multidisciplinary team - a gym equipped with brand new, modern equipment.
At the end of your hospital stay, the physiotherapists establish a cardiac rehabilitation schedule with you or assist you in finding a cardiac rehabilitation centre near you.
The cardiac rehabilitation period represents the opportunity to discover or to rediscover physical exercise. Maintaining the benefits obtained from your physiotherapy sessions by continuing to do regular physical exercise is indispensable.
The physiotherapists will help you to make the right choice, based on your needs, so that it can be realistically incorporated into your daily life.
The cardiac rehabilitation centres are staffed with multidisciplinary teams that support you, not only with the physical and medical aspects of your condition, but also with its psychosocial aspects and with combatting the cardiovascular risk factors.
In this context, the psychologist systematically intervenes during your hospitalisation and subsequently remains available during the outpatient phase.
