PRESENTATION OF THE UNIT
Unit -1A is an internal medicine and cardiology department equipped with 12 cardiac telemetry monitoring stations. Recently renovated, this unit offers its patients an environment that is both welcoming and professional.
PARTICULAR EXAMINATION/CHECK-Up
If you have to undergo an additional cardiac examination/procedure, such as a coronary angiogram or a cardioversion, you will be received and monitored in our department.
You will be treated in our department at the St. Michel site, then transported via our shuttle to the St. Elisabeth site where the coronary angiogram will be performed. Then you will return to our department the same day via the shuttle, where the nursing team and medical staff will await you for follow-up.
PATIENT CARE
We have adopted a holistic approach to patient care, respecting the values and beliefs of each patient. Each nurse cares for her patients holistically and within the dynamics of "integrated nursing".
YOUR ROOm
All our rooms are equipped with a bathroom with a shower, a TV, one closet with a built-in safe per patient, one armchair per patient, a dining table and 2 chairs.
MEAL ORGANISATIOn
Meal times:
Breakfast: between 8 am and 8.30 am
Lunch: between 12 pm and 12.30 pm
Dinner: between 5 pm and 5.30 pm
Meals provided by hospital catering are suited to your specific needs with regard to your hospitalization. The Europe Hospitals accept no responsibility whatsoever in respect of storage, hygiene or quality of food other than that provided by hospital catering. Thank you for your understanding.
SERVICES AND RELAXATIOn
Telephone and Internet
All rooms have telephone and internet connections. You will receive a personal code for the telephone when you register. If required you should also ask for access codes for the internet at the admissions department. Outside admissions opening hours, please feel free to ask for the access code at the reception.
Television
All rooms have radio and flat screen television with a remote control unit in your room.
Reading Materials
Every Tuesday and Thursday volunteers from the Red Cross come round with books which you may borrow free of charge.
The post will be delivered every morning to your room. Ladies please ask your correspondents to indicate your maiden name on the envelop. The nursing staff will place your post in the post box at the reception, or if you are capable you may do it yourself. If necessary you may buy postage stamps here as well.
Relaxation areas
In each ward there is a relaxation area. It is strictly forbidden to smoke in this area.
Hairdresser - Pedicure
If you wish, you may make an appointment for your hair and/or pedicure via the head nurse of your ward.
YOUr DEPARTURe
You are free to leave the hospital once you have received your discharge documents and letter from your attending doctor.
