FIBROSCAN
A Fibroscan is an examination that measures both the presence and degree of liver fibrosis, as well as the amount of fat in the liver.
Liver fibrosis is the result of chronic injury to the liver. It can be important to detect it in patients with risk factors for liver disease.
The Fibroscan is a non-invasive and radiation-free test. You must fast for 4 hours before the exam (no food, no drinks). It is only reimbursed by health insurance for patients with hepatitis B or hepatitis C.
