About psychology

Health and psychological well-being are closely linked. That is why there are several psychologists working in the hospital.

WHAT DOES A PSYCHOLOGIST DO?

A psychologist provides a space where the patient feels free to talk about what is bothering him or her. The listening offered by psychologists differs from that offered by relatives in that it is neutral, allowing patients to distance themselves and to reflect on their difficulties. A psychologist can help with stress management, emotions, improving self-image, building projects closer to the patient's needs/wishes, mobilising personal resources, etc. The psychologist may use various tools depending on your request. It is a working relationship that is built with you and at your pace.

WHEN CAN I ask for A PSYCHOLOGIST?

Whether you are hospitalised or not, at the Europe Hospitals you can meet a psychologist.

On the one hand, if you are hospitalised, do not hesitate to send your request to the hospital teams (nurses, doctors, paramedics) who will relay it to the psychologists assigned to the department or to the liaison psychologist.

On the other hand, if you are not hospitalised, there is the possibility of seeing a psychologist in consultation. You can find the contact details of each psychologist by clicking on the "additional information" tab.

HOW TO CHOOSE A PSYCHOLOGIST?

Each psychologist has a speciality and a target group. This is indicated in the "additional information" tab.

For example: if you are facing cancer. The hospital has onco-psychologists who can guarantee you follow-up thanks to their expertise in oncology.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

The payment terms depend on the patient's pathology/request. The secretariat or the psychologist concerned will be able to give you information on this subject. Please contact your health insurance company as sometimes a certain number of sessions can be reimbursed.
