We welcome Dr. Sandhya Fonseca

The Europe Hospitals welcome Dr. Sandhya FONSECA, who recently joined our Department of Anatomical Pathology Laboratory. 

Dr. Fonseca joins our medical team with extensive academic and clinical experience and will help strengthen our diagnostic expertise in service of our patients. Dr. Fonseca earned her medical degree from the University of Goa (India) in 2003 and then continued her training in Belgium at the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL), where she completed a Diploma in Medical Sciences in 2008. She later obtained a Master’s in Anatomical Pathology from UCL in 2013, solidifying her specialization in this essential field of diagnostic medicine. 

Throughout her career, Dr. Fonseca has expanded her expertise by participating in numerous postgraduate courses (EPU) and international conferences in diverse diagnostic areas, including: breast pathology; functional and preneoplastic endometrial pathology; ovarian and endometrial tumor pathology; bladder tumors and prostate biopsies; liver and biliary tract pathology; diagnosis of melanocytic tumors; as well as specialized programs such as the post-graduate course on lung and pleural diseases. 

These activities demonstrate her ongoing commitment to diagnostic excellence and continuous professional development in complex clinical areas. With this extensive experience and a passion for her work, she will bring a rigorous and compassionate approach to the laboratory, ensuring precise analysis of specimens and accurate diagnoses, which are key elements in the therapeutic journey of patients hospitalized or followed within our facilities.
