New! Prenatal Yoga
The Maternity Ward of the St-Elisabeth site organises prenatal yoga classes.
WHAT IS PRENATAL YOGA?
During pregnancy, the body needs extra care to carry the baby. Yoga exercises will improve your posture and flexibility, teach you to focus on yourself and your baby and give you the strength to carry your baby.
give you the strength to carry your baby. It will also help you stay healthy during pregnancy.
During these prenatal yoga classes, you become more in touch with yourself and your baby. You prepare your body and mind for childbirth by consciously relaxing and trusting your own "feminine" strength.
We practice different birthing positions and breathing techniques so that you are well prepared for the "big day".
You learn to trust your body more and your mind less. Prenatal yoga is particularly recommended for women who are easily tense or stressed.
It is also about relaxing and resting, in touch with the baby.
Prenatal yoga is given in a series of 10 classes. Each class is built around a theme and lasts 1.5 hours.
If possible and if you wish, you can follow several series of classes in order to become fully familiar with the exercises we do together. Each series is unique.
Prenatal yoga can be taken from 12 weeks of pregnancy until the day of delivery.
The classes are taught by midwives.
